Fort Hill’s EdgeSystem allows IT administrators to ensure remote users have quick access to requested data at the network’s edge.

EdgeServer pre-positions requested data to the edges of the network, allowing remote users quick access to relevant information, thus reducing demand to the WAN and conserving bandwidth.

EdgeManager is a policy server that intelligently identifies and selects appropriate information for replication to the edge. An EdgeManager includes a Web-based administrator interface to search, select, distribute, monitor and manage content throughout the network, including remote locations.

How the EdgeSystem Works

The EdgeSystem has two primary components. The Fort Hill EdgeServer™ pre-populates requested data to the edges of the network, allowing remote users quick access to relevant information. The Fort Hill EdgeManager™ is a policy server that intelligently identifies and selects appropriate information for edge replication by EdgeServers. The EdgeManager includes a net-native administrator interface to search, select, distribute, monitor and manage content throughout the network, including remote locations. An EdgeSystem deployment typically consists of EdgeServers installed at all remote offices and one EdgeManager positioned in the corporate data center.

The EdgeSystem is accessible from any network access point via any browser-equipped client and provides simple, intuitive control.  It is easily installed and starts automatically on reboot.  System components run on industry standard Intel-compatible servers.
